Sorry I Didn't Post

Sorry I didn't post yesterday! I was very busy! I had two sleepovers and I was outside all day!
Today I went to Chrissy Field in San Francisco. It was so cold but, I still went in the water. I was making a fort with my brother and two friends, Emily and Max. The fort was for hermit crabs.

Continuing on the adjectives...
Writing Tip: Don't use boring adjectives.
Example- nice, white, cool, kind, fun, etc.
They are so boring and even though they describe something, they're not that descriptive.
I hope you liked that one,
Malia

GATE

GATE stands for Gifted And Talented Enrichment. Today was my first day of the program this summer; this is my second time doing it. The activities I am doing are:

1. Going Green
2. Elements of Business
3. So You Want To Get Published

Going Green is a class where you learn about the environment and the ways to keep it green. One of my friends took this class last year. She said that something you have to do is come up with a green invention.

Elements of Business is a class where you come up with a business name for your group, decide what you are selling, and decide which people to hire.

So You Want To Get Published is a class where you learn about the process of getting published. The teacher (Ms.Wong) has been published many times and she is giving the class tips about writing. I can't wait until I finish my book and submit it!

My First Post

This is my first blog. My blog will mostly be about writing and good books but I will also talk about other stuff. Example: Songs, Hula, Trips. I hope you will like my blog and I am excited to share things with you.

Every Saturday I will have a writing tip. Writing Tip: Adjectives are good for your story but, if you have too many they will hurt your story. I used to add lots of adjectives because I was trying to make the story longer. I thought it would look more professional if I had tons of pages. When I read the chapter over I realized that it really was too much for my story. The chapter dragged on and almost every other sentence was describing something. It doesn't matter how long your story is (unless you want it to be a picture book), people like your book because of your writing.

Before I leave I want to do a poll: Which author do you like the most? a) J.K. Rowling b) Roald Dahl or c) Meg Cabot. If I get enough comments I will post the most popular next Saturday!
